After The Game

A BEYOND CODE COLLECTIVE ANCHOR PROGRAM

FROM SPORTS
TO TECH

After The Game is a national, cohort-based workforce program for transitioning professional and NCAA student-athletes. It is explicitly designed for those who are not long-term earners and need structured support to design and enter a second career. This structured program bridges the “digital skill divide” with technical leaders teaching live classes and building curricula, and a community providing wraparound support that covers everything from corporate readiness to job placement.

<2%

4.5 yrs

5 yrs

average MLB career

Less than 2 percent of NCAA student-athletes go on to play professionally, and for those who do, the clock is already ticking. NFL careers last an average of 3–5 years; NBA careers, 4.5 years; and MLB, 5 years. When it comes to deciding what’s next, most athletes are left to figure it out alone.

This is not because they lack discipline, motivation or drive. What they lack is a bridge: the knowledge, context, and guidance to translate their skills into the next career they want.

A PARTICIPANT-LED CLASSROOM MODEL

FACILITATORS,
NOT LECTURERS

After The Game uses a “flipped-classroom” model using peer-based milestones and hands-on coding labs that respect the athlete’s learning style: facilitators over lecturers and team-based competition. Participants are selected based on proven motivation to build a durable post-sports career, demonstrated through a pre-program interview and selection process.

THE CURRICULUM

6–9 MONTHS.
PART-TIME. FULL IMPACT.

After The Game is a part-time, 6–9 month program that begins with a skills assessment to determine the best technical path for each individual. The curriculum combines industry-recognized certifications with wraparound support including professional communication and mental health resources to navigate the transition from athlete to tech professional.

CERTIFICATION TRACKS

COMPTIA
CERTIFIED

Participants earn industry-recognized CompTIA certifications through structured, hands-on courses taught twice a week. These credentials are trusted by employers and build the technical foundation for a career in tech.

CompTIA Tech+ Foundations

7 weeks • Mon & Tues • 3 hrs/class

Foundational computing, IT support, networking, cybersecurity, software development fundamentals, data management, and cloud technologies. Prepares participants to sit for the CompTIA Tech+ certification exam.

CompTIA Network+ (N10-009)

8 weeks • 2 sessions/week • 3 hrs/session

Core networking concepts, protocols, security principles, and troubleshooting methodologies. Hands-on experience with networking hardware, topologies, and diagnostic tools. Prepares participants for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam.

THE ECOSYSTEM

A TWO-SIDED
VALUE LOOP

We’re building a two-sided ecosystem, a value loop that delivers workforce-ready talent to employers while providing athletes with a clear roadmap to high-trajectory careers: upon completion of the program, participants will be placed in paid externships and apprenticeships with partner employers for 3–6 months.
